For today and tomorrow in eastern Oklahoma, southerly winds will continue to provide ample moisture for scattered thunderstorms and good air quality apart from some light Mesoamerican smoke.  In western Oklahoma, dry winds and mostly sunny skies will contribute to very high fire danger and allow ozone to rise into the moderate category.  The stiff breezes may loft locally unhealthy dust in the drought-stricken Panhandle and adjacent counties.  On Saturday morning, a cold front will bring a clean, dry air mass.  Prescribed and agricultural burning on the Flint Hills in may result in widespread smoke in parts of northeastern Oklahoma, but southerly winds will return early next week and redirect this smoke away from Oklahoma.  Dry and sunny weather may result in moderate ozone until subtropical moisture and scattered showers return toward the middle of next week.
