| Happy Juneteenth! A cold front passed through Oklahoma
yesterday, and clouds and rain showers will ensure good air quality
today. The front will retreat
northward on Saturday and Sunday, and stiff southerly breezes will bring warm
and humid air with light Mesoamerican smoke.
High humidity, cumulus convection, and isolated showers will limit
ozone formation in eastern Oklahoma, but abundant sunshine and drier
conditions will allow ozone to climb into the moderate category in the
westernmost counties and the Panhandle.
The cold front will return on Monday or Tuesday, and scattered or
widespread rain showers will ensue for several days in the eastern and
central counties. These rains wash
precipitation from the atmosphere and ensure good air quality. Saharan dust may arrive later next
week. The showery weather will persist
until the southwestern monsoon arrives in New Mexico in early July. |
