Mostly cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms will inhibit ozone production east of the dryline for the next few days; however, ozone may reach the moderate category where the sun breaks through the clouds in the afternoon.  Moreover, the mist and light Mesoamerican smoke on southerly breezes will allow fine particulate matter to reach the moderate category.  Meanwhile, west of the dryline, bright sunshine and a dry atmosphere will foster moderate ozone and very high fire danger.  An incursion of cool and dry air will arrive on Monday, so ozone may reach near or above the top of the moderate category under bright sunshine beneath the frontal inversion.  Southerly breezes and scattered showers will resume toward the middle of next week.
