| A frontal boundary will progress across
Oklahoma over the next several days, stall near the Red River, and then
progress back north. Wind direction will be variable with this slow-moving
boundary, leading to variability in ozone formation. Ozone concentrations are
expected to reach well into the Moderate/Yellow category in the metros and
northwestern Oklahoma, with the potential for the Oklahoma City area to see
"Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups"/Orange conditions. Possible pop-up
storms across the northern portion of the state on Thursday morning may
create localized pockets of cleaner air, but most of the state will see
Moderate ozone conditions through the weekend as the state's extreme heat
persists. |
